Sick passenger escorted off Air New Zealand flight from Auckland to Christchurch.
An Air New Zealand Q300 aircraft land at Nelson Airport, one of three flights to land at Nelson on May 11. On Friday morning, an unwell passenger had to be taken off a domestic flight with .Air New Zealand.
A spokesperson for Air NZ reported that one person had been removed from Auckland-Christchurch flight NZ1202 because she was unwell. The individual was not believed to have coronavirus, she said.
Any passengers who are sick or suffering from symptoms of Covid-19 are advised to stay home and not board their planes, the spokeswoman said.
A spokeswoman for Auckland Airport said she was unaware of the incident and there was no medical record of a medical incident occurring on that flight which indicated that medical staff had not been called out to attend.
“We follow the Ministry of Health guidance on safety checks at Auckland Airport. Passengers are advised to follow government recommendations on flying within New Zealand and not to fly if they have any Covid-19 symptoms, are awaiting test results or wish to self-isolate.”
